MAP UPDATE by Lesley Killough Connecting the Trans-Canada Trail through Castlegar Wendy Hurst is working on a brochure
with a map showing the best routes to connect the Columbia & Western rail trail at the Keenlyside Dam with the Columbia Trail
on the east side of the river at Champion. Lesley Killough and Wendy have taken several digital photos of places of interest
such as the dam, the pulp mill, Castlegar Museum, Zuckerberg Island, Pass Creek, Waldie Island, Verigin's Tomb, the
Schoolhouse, and Doukhobor Museum. Wendy will turn these into black and white sketches to illustrate the brochure. This is
the project for which we received funding from the Area "J" Planning Commission.
VI's
BENCH
A note of appreciation to Walter Volovsek, for his work on Vi Wilcox's bench at Twin Rivers Park. As always, his design
is ideal in beauty and good taste. Many have expressed admiration for the placement and surroundings of the bench
Thank you, Walter
